Thats why the F22 is ment to take fighters out from afar. Its called BVR (Beyond Visual Range).

Except the F-22 is somewhat designed to completely avoid dogfights by shooting landing a missile on enemy targets before they even know the F-22 is there (at long range), only the top Russian aircraft have targeting systems as advanced as the F-22's, and those are too expensive for the Russians to produce in mass!

Reminds me of the sr-71, Massive stealth capabilities, then throw the heat signature on and it was one of the biggest targets ever picked up on radar.

in a dog fight you don't need stealth...they know you're there.

In a dog fight stealth capabilities are minimal because of the close range and the fact that the rear isn't stealthy at all, not to mention the heat signature.

the F22's stealth capabilities are more advanced than the F117. Last time I checked SAM sites had radars that could pick a plane up from hundreds of miles away, which is why the 5th generation aircraft use STEALTH!!! shh it might get YOU F35/F22 Badass planes!

Well, I doubt they would be stationing these next to danger zones, Plus, The yf-22 is what you have to look out for, not these, YF-22 Has not been shot down once, and its been over there for years. Plus there is no mass need for stealth in YF-22's, they strike from hundreds of miles away.

this is better than harrier..thing about the AV8B was that the 4 nozzles meant that the jet couldnt use afterburner..therefore slower. i think the F35 can.

There are not 100% stealth crafts. It reduces around 70-80% its radar mark which is canceled if the opponent has advanced air to air missiles and more agile craft. Stealth crafts aren't agile because of their construction. Furthermore PUTTING ONE ENGINE ON A MULTIPURPOSE AIRCRAFT SHOULD BE A CRIMINAL ACT PUNISHED BY DEATH.

mate the super hornet dosen't have stealth. and if an SU-35 MK went up against an F-35 it would be like fighting in the dark, because it would not be picked up on radar.

I would love to see an insurgent shot it with a shotgun at close range wile it is hovering around lets say in Iraq . Not to mention other weapons. Guys i bet a SU-35 MK can shot down 10 of those american jokes for breakfast. Modern weapons can see everything, this plane has only one engine doing awful many things . If someone considers it a better plane than the super hornet is fooling himself.

this plane is much like the Soviet Yak-141, but I think it must be a lot better!!!!^^
