Because ejecting out of planes is very dangerous, a large number of pilots have killed or hurt in a major way over the years.

Back then the Skyhawk aircraft didn't have zero speed zero altitude ejection seats (0/0).

what i ment is that u can get the parachute out but it wouldnt help you any cause it doesnt have enogh time to open all the way to catch the air and slow you down.

Yeah they would. When an F-18 landed on one of the super carriers deck, the arresting gear's cable broke and the jets afterburner sent it over. But once the wheel left the flight deck the pilot ejected. Safley too. But there was a problem tho, he got blown into the flight deck and had a 40 kmh collision. ANYWAY you could get your chute open its wether o not u can land it. I don't understand how either. I guess the F18's ejection sea propels him a hundred or so feet in the air

Even if they did have ejection seats it wouldnt be smart to eject because when you shot up you wouldnt have enough room to deploy the parachute and you might not land in the water you might hit the deck even harder than you would have if you would have just jumped out.

A4's at that time did not have 0-0 ejection seats. [zero spd zero alt] It would not have been safe to eject, better to jump from the plane and run for your life.

interesting documentary,both mind blowing in a scary sense. Just wondering, wearn't the pilots ejection seats armed? If they were, they could ejected to safety. Bless them though.
