Another major milestone in the launch of NASA's Ares I-X rocket flight test has been achieved in Kennedy Space Center's Vehicle Assembly Building.
The four aft solid rocket booster segments were stacked, or assembled, July 1 on a mobile launcher platform in High Bay 3. This will allow the stacking of the upper stage simulator components atop the segments later in July.

    If they (ATA) hasn't even run a 5 segment motor (ever) horizontally...why have they built the Ares 1X already. What if it fails to produce enough thrust. Seems like
