Nick MIG welding some hot rolled, steel plates. This is the pulsed variation. Notice how many sparks there are and the electronic welding machine needed. Sounds weird too. Part 1 of 3.
you guys should see a video of a weld i did in competition. the finished product

By shntoo [Affiliate User] 1200451121 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeim somewhat skilled in MIG welding, not exactly a pro but hey i can do a welding test just fine :)
Im not familiar with the pulsed version tou, unless im mistaken i used copper wire at 18.0 feed and 180 volts( or amps i forget )
would be cool if you showed us the finish product tou.
Youre right ahset. An uphand weld is approx. 70% stronger than downhand.

By ahset [Affiliate User] 1198288289 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell for pulsed MIG it's very complicated and after this video was made, I sucked trying to weld with pulsed MIG. It uses a computer to control pulses right into the molten puddle. You must follow "guidelines" in the filler metal supplier book on amperage, etc. It's mainly trial and error though to get it just right. It acts like spray arc only that you can do verticle with pulsed. Equipment can be costly, so take note.

By billthewelder1971 [Affiliate User] 1194470885 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThere is no such thing as "plasma welding" but I think you mean stick welding, aka SMAW. Fluxcore needs a wirefeeder. Stick though you can take anywhere and doesn't require a wire feeder.
