yeah hes one of my fav guitarist but comparing him to paul gilbert, i think paul comes on to due to, like you said, his predictability. paul is able to use his amazing technical talent combined with his music theory knowledg to make things that sound beautiful, but are also the hardest things to play

Exactly. I love yngwie but he's so perdictable, and that string skipping bit would definetly push the envelope for him. IMO

Haha yeah you have no idea what you're talking about. The Diminished or Octatonic scale is almost always used for Jazz. Every song I've played by Malmsteen is in the Harmonic Minor, thats why Paul Gilbert wrote this song in the harmonic minor.
