Do you rally read what you intend to pass off as reasons why the Bible says the Earth is flat, ISA 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth; Circle, doesn't sound like flat to me.

Pascal's Wager is a fallacy. If God is omniscient, first of all, he's going to know the only reason you're worshipping him is under false pretenses. Furthermore, we could both be wrong. I would rather spend my life holding logical, substantiated beliefs based on evidence rather than believing in something for no good reason. I will not base my life on irrational, outdated morality supported by no actual, tangible evidence.

Wouldn't you rather believe in God and be wrong than not believe in Him and be right?

In addition, the most profound implication made if you ask me is in Matthew 4:8, where the devil takes Jesus to the top of a high mountain and shows him all the kingdoms of the Earth. If the Earth is spherical, this is not possible no matter how high the mountain is.

The Bible is supposed to be the word of an omniscient God. These implications are made far too many times in different books to write them off as symbolic.

You have also yet to explain why the Bible claims that the Earth does not move, when the Bible in fact does this three times and implies it a fourth.

I am not claiming that God does not exist, I am claiming that it is very unlikely that God exists. I do not believe in God in that I do not believe in unicorns. It's like if someone tells you they discovered 80 million dollars in a suitcase on the sidewalk. Do you have to prove that they didn't in order to justify not believing it? Of course not. You don't have a good reason to believe that the person did in fact find that money, but you would believe them if they presented adequate evidence.

Yes, the argument is old, but nonetheless valid today. You are claiming God does not exist - where's your proof? If I must provide proof for His existence, should you not provide the same for His non-existence? And I must agree with wpd602 - you really aren't interested in trying to understand, but rather only wishing to "pick a fight". Civil discourse would be more greatly appreciated.

None of these verses are trying to claim that the earth is flat. The "ends of the Earth", "The four corners of the Earth", "The foundations of the Earth", are all expressions, pictures, illustrations to show the whole thing. All of it. Everything they knew of at the time.

Ok, I'll ramp it up. The following verses claim or imply that the Earth is a flat disc, has corners/edges/pillars, does not move, and is built on foundations, all of which we know are false, most of these verse are very straighforward:

Isaiah 40:22, Psalm 104:5, Psalm 96:10, Psalm 93:1, Job 9:6, Job 38:13, Job 28:24, Job 11:9, Isaiah 11:12, Revelation 7:1, Jeremiah 16:9, Daniel 4:11, and especially Matthew 4:8, you can't see all of the kingdoms of the earth from a mountain.

I'm disappointed I was hoping you would point out the errors in the bible.

Greek mythology was taken from the Bible! Back in the book of Numbers, about 4 or 5000 years before Greek Mythology, there was a problem with the Hebrews getting bitten by snakes. God told Moses to fashion a serpent of brass to a pole. If anyone was to look at it they would be healed.
It is also a picture of Jesus on the Cross. Look to Jesus for your healing- physical, emotional, Spiritual

My friend :o) There is not one contridiction in the 66 books of the Christian Bible. There is not one scientific fact that contradicts the bible.

And here we go again with the Bible verses. The number one way to protect a lie that is passed off as truth is to tell those who believe it that all who disagree are fools and that the believers are actually wise. I guarantee you that you would find similar passages in the Qu'ran. I have serious doubt that a book that contradicts itself so many times and is wrong about such things as the shape of the Earth can be trusted as a source of truth.

ya'll, I agree that this is an incredible illustration. But lets be careful not be base our beliefs on the shape of one protein. It's incredible that God gave us this picture to remind us of what He has done, but lets not get so caught up in the picture that we make it the thing that we base our beliefs on. We base our faith in God on His Word, not a molecule! Please don't forget this!!!
