In the United Kingdom, the series is shown on both the Discovery Channel and on Channel 4. The series is produced by British television production company Diverse Bristol. The show was first broadcast on November 10, 2006 after airing a pilot episode titled The Rockies on October 27, 2006. There have been three seasons aired. Bear Grylls has signed on for a fourth season with thirteen episodes. Grylls also said he has been approached about doing a Man vs. Wild urban disaster 3-D feature film, an idea he said he would "really like to do

    granted...while les stroud is all alone on his little missions....he does throw rocks at birds and misses...bear actually puts himself in danger to show you how to survive....les stroud gets high on beetelnut (only cool thing hes done)...both good guys though

    bear is millitary trained so he is trained to be able to survive long enough to get yourself back to civilization....im not undercrediting bear, i think he is very skilled but i mean honestly he is no les stroude.....if you still truly believe les has an advantage over bear or that bear is superior than that is a serious ameteur opinion.....i urge you to watch les's documentary called snowshoes and solitude...he lives in the north canadian bush for 1 full year without using any metal tools

    people don't realize how nuts it actually is to spend a week in super remote areas without bringing food or enough water(often none) and also doing it by yourself.....the psychological part is enough to drive u mad...and jesus i can name atleast 10 times wen les was in extreme danger...im talking serious danger...bottom line is that man vs wild and survivorman are 2 dif shows with 2 different survivalists
