To play an "F Major" use your index finger on the first (E) AND second strings (B), first fret. your second finger goes on your third string (G), second fret. and your ring finger goes on the fourth string (D), third fret. Its a little tricky for beginning guitar players to get your first finger to play two strings, but pluck each string after you have your fingers in the right place to see which one is giving you problems

I just can't do F chord..my fingers just won't go to the right place :(:(

The most important thing is to train your ear it will help you the most. Far as sheet music you look at the G clef it will tell you what key and tempo it's in.

Most songs start with a down beat, so you would strum down. When learning guitar don't get the piano arrangement song books make sure it says guitar only or easy guitar tap this is what you want.

These are more correct.

Start of with easy guitar songs first and learn different rhythms. Check out my site it can help you even more.

Im wondering but... how do you know when to strum up or down?
Like for example, you first look at a sheet of music, and see notes.
How do you know the rythem and how to strum up or down and the rythem when you first look at it? O.o
