The "Luck Is No Accident" book has radical advice
Dr. John D. Krumboltz and Dr. Al S. Levin tell us - in their book "Luck Is No Accident" - that we must "make the most of happenstance in our life and career."

In this video - taken at the Association of Computer-based Systems for Career Information (ACSCI) (www.acsci.org) 2007 conference in Las Vegas - Dr. Krumboltz answers a few questions about the radical advice offered in the book.

0:20 Q & A session "How did you come by this (happenstance) approach?"

2:08 (a person hates their job, but won't change because they invested so much in it ...)

3:07 "No, you shouldn't be required to do something you don't want to do."

4:54 "... my whole life has been one unplanned event after another, after another, after another ..."

5:20 "... paying the bills ... while you take this leap ..."

6:18 "high schoolers ,,, career exploration,,,

6:56 "Kids should be encouraged to try things,,, do things ..."

7:29 "That's the key: it's the doing that is important."

9:30 "How long do I need to try (this job)?"
