dmacd1990, Chaplin is not portraying Hitler in this scene!! The rest of the movie was a parody against him, but in this scene Chaplin is actually playng the jewish barber - Not Hynkel. He was being genuine in thi speech - trying to reach out to people with a message. My goodness, why can't everyone see this??

You need to grow a few more brain cells, sweetheart. If the Tramp was boring and phoney, then he wouldn't be a world icon. Goodness, they are people who know Charlie Chaplin but they don't know who Jesus is.
