Karate Vs Kung Fu

from my seat and i have scrapped loads street and dojo in all types of martial arts the kung fu student never had the will or training to be called a worthy opponent but karate although regimental is not a worthless art it lacks flair but makes up for it with strength

LOL that was too brutal for the Drunken Style dude...Hope he really got drunk after that so as not to feel all the pain after the strikes he took. Next time they should consider weight classification before setting up a drunken broom stick with a Karate " tree trunk" match.

Karate is a waste of time to learn, because when you see them fight, all you see is kicking and punching. All the fancy moves they do in the kata is not used. You might as well learn boxing for your arms, and ballet for your legs, because that's all we see when we see karate students, and their teachers fight in competition. Bottom line, if you what to fight like a karate master, then go to ballet classes and buy a punch bag, that way you will not waste your time on useless kata. AMEN.......

Karate has a lil affect in SOME ways, but ya karate, kung fu, tae kwon do and other martial arts that have similar characteristics as these, arent as affective if you were to fight in the streets. At tournaments you can be all fancy smanchy but a street fight is an all out brawl. HAHAHA tae-kwon-do in english equals take-my-$dow$!!!!!

Looking at this vid, Kung Fu is garbage. They look drunk when they're fighting. I know the dude in the white is a karate dude, because my friend takes karate. Both fighting styles are basically worthless in the street, though. Just my opinion.

A kung fu expert would never fully unload on an opponent in sport. He would have killed him with one hayuuuuken.

All this talk of "karate rules" or "kung fu S**ks ", it seems to me what gets the kung fu guy beat isn't so much his technique or arguable lack of, but his tactics. He looks far too defensive, waiting for the karate guy to make a move to counter it. Whereas the karate guy is attacking with simple and fast techniques, direct and quick, that doesn't give the kung fuguy chance to breathe. Yes it comes down to the practitioner, to his attitude and aggressiveness. Kung fu guy is too reluctant, I feel.

that was the dumbest statement i've ever heard. do you even know what judo and karate are? for that matter, do you know anything about martial arts?

u know, all tae kwon do is like self defense and judo and karate is pretty much kicking ans blocking...

this is no kyokushin karate this is pure taekwondo. And a kyokushinkai or shotokan user will use is hand more often and those guys uses only feet. Those "kung fu" fighters are so lame that even my mother could i've win a fight against them. So don't blame kung fu blame the fighters

been to ALOT of competitions and have yet to see a practitioner of kung fu beat a karateka and i maean never simply stating the facts

this is kyokushin karate. since its a new style it has an enormous advantage against standard styles.. i mean loook at his stance, its so flexble.. Even a drunken style master would have serious problems with this kinda fighter.

You're right about Drunken Fist, and you can certainly see how such a strategy would maybe work in an ancient Chinese tavern against your average drunk meathead. However, trying to employ it in a dojo competition against trained fighters is just plain silly. Everyone knows you've come to fight, and that you're not really drunk. You end up wasting all that effort trying to appear drunk and incapacitated without any benefit. The result? Getting KTFO.
