i dont believe there is an update for the 1000's, but i might be wrong

how long did you leave it in for? it could be an issue with the burning process... and also, does your player still work after you (i assume) cancelled the operation?

what do you do if the disc does not eject itself and continues to say download on the display.
Did i burn the file wrong on the cd?

Thanks for the info. Pioneer does have support if you bunk yer flash up, but that involves sending it in/finding a dealer, etc which I can imagine might get a bit pricey.

has anyone tried to put anything other than an update on the mk2? like thier own program or a game or effects, stuff like that?

When you mess up a firmware update your kit will turn into a brick. A firmware update updates the operating system of your kit. The firmware is stored on flash memory and the factory will probably have to get involved to fix a bad flash. Flashing is the removal or upgrade of old firmware and installing the new firmware. With a bad flash your kit won't work, which will make it as good as a brick. Practice and enjoy.
