Hijab: I Wear It So Proudly!!!

I have not read more than a little bit of the Quran, but I have read countless other books. Mostly what I like to read is about other people, and how and what they think. I have learned a lot about people's perspectives in this way. I have also learned a lot by listening and by communicating thoughts with them.

Then why should the Islamic religion even imply that one must be a Muslim to be a decent person? Following a religion and accepting the idea that all other people are on the wrong path is a denial of the validity of the paths of all those other people. I am not a Muslim. That does not mean that I do not value peace and wish that everyone should have it.

Perhaps it is that not all Muslims understand that such an instruction to read may be taken to mean that they should read other books beside the Quran.Either that or they only look to disprove all other ideas which do not seem to be in agreement with the Quran.

Mencado, all human beings have multifaceted personalities. Surely, you cant be saying that a muslim then solely defines himself based on his religion alone and never picks up Aristotle or Newton's Laws. The Quran says: "Iqra"- read! It commands you not to follow blindly. To seek out knowledge. Islam is a way of living someone chooses. I was never taught to sit passively and accept everything. And that is where the freedom lies. For a person that follows blindly is not a true muslim.

The entire human body is, in a way, just one whole sexual organ. A man is a man because he is a man, not because he is a man of any certain size.

They are taught not to value their freedom to be the individual human beings that they were born to be. They are taught to follow the same rules, to read the same book, to idolize the same man, to dress the same way, to value the same things, to behave the same way, to reject the same things that other Muslims reject, to use the same reference for all of their decisions, to stay confined within the same limited perspective of the world. Where is the freedom in that?

You have it all wrong my friend. Muslim women cover because they want to:

A. Speak out against objectification of women. Of being exploited. Of being free of defining their sense of self based on their looks. I am more than a piece of ass, thats why I cover.

B. They follow the examples set by Mary and the daugther of the Prophet, Fatema.

C. Because they want to. If someone is forced, that it is not islam. It is tyranny and oppression. For listen, there is no compulsionin religion.

Doesn't 'God' want the Christians to love all of 'his' people, and doesn't that include all Muslims and all atheists? In fact, doesn't your having unloving feelings mean that you are a bad Christian?

I'll be sure to tear off any muslim woman's hijab I see in the street. I am a catholic, and find your dress appalling, considering I live in a Christian nation, i shouldn't have to see this rubbish.

Fear of 'God' is oppressive. One should love 'God', and not fear that 'he' will not understand that there are good reasons for every behavior.'God' will forgive all disobeyance. That is an oppression of her being. All religion seeks to suppress natural human nature under fear of 'God'. That is perverse. Teaching people that 'God' created them perverted is a completely backwards way to think.

If my thinking of this is right, then i have this to type: A Muslim woman covers up from top to bottom because to protect her from getting the wrong attention. Her beautiness is for one man and one man only, her HUSBAND. Her Husband has the right, non other.

Should people be allowed to make negative generalizations about eachother, because they have been taught to think that they are better than other people? Should they be allowed to look down on other people, and say that they are bad human beings, just because there religion says that is the case? I don't think they should. Does that mean that I believe that religious people are all bad as human beings? No, it means that I believe that religion itself is bad.

Look guys, the bottom line is you should be free to choose whatever you want. Whether you believe or you dont believe. The ban on hijab in France is ridiculous. Its like saying.. sorry you're not allowed to be chinese or black or etc. If someone defines themselves this way... whats it to you? Unless they've been literally forced out of their will, then its a problem. How come you dont see a ban on becoming a nun? A muslim woman covers because shes confused or oppressed. But a nun is devout. Sad.
