This is the edited version of "Imprisoned Parrots" which contain both Chinese and English subtitles of the soundtrack.
A short clip to raise awareness of the abuse and neglect of parrots. The contrasting nature-culture, love-apathy, care-cruelty, etc dialectics are raised to highlight humans' exploitative relationships with these beautiful, intelligent yet innocent sentient beings known to us as parrots.
The soundtrack is a Chinese song by Peng Ling, named Imprisoned Bird. It fits the contexts here very well, singing the loss of love, freedom and of neglect.

I'd like to respectfully disagree. Yes, in the wild parrots get more than we give them. So do wild dogs, cats, lizards and frogs, one could argue. People don't get all the healty nutrition and stimulation they need to reach their full potential, either. This is NOT to excuse anybody from being lazy. With a little research, we can give them a diet that is just as good, and (who knows) possibly even BETTER than what they would scrounge up in the wild. We can interact with them whenever we're home.

They are very intelligent and NEED hundreds of flockmates and activity just to feel secure. And they need food not available beyond their forests of origin. Even if they are captive-bred, they are only a generation or two from the wild and they are still wild creatures, finely tuned to a specific food and a specific life. Not good pets!

They need so much more than any human being can provide for them in captivity. Please see videos of the World Parrot Refuge for a deeper look into this topic. When we truly love parrots, we'll leave them live the lives they are intended for in the wild. Thanks.
By MesFavoris [Affiliate User] 1197815828 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDon't feel guilty! You got one bird from an auction and it had been mistreated. You saved that bird! That's an awesome thing, good for you! Your birds can have a lovely life with you. The video's more about abuse, like what happened to your keet previously. We need people who care about birds. (Just don't adopt a more complex bird like a parrot if it's been abused. It'll need help from someone more experienced. :) Don't feel bad! Enjoy your birds, knowing they have a good home with you. *hug* :)
By Arahmynta [Affiliate User] 1197444202 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove(Part 1)The original birds were taken from the wild, but the birds you can buy now are almonst COMPLETELY raised and owned by responsible breeders. Abusive breeders are extremely rare, and a responsible buyer will check out the bird's living conditions and not buy from a bad breeder. These problems can all be avoided if people think before they buy a bird. Are they willing to keep their macaw until it's 70? Can they provide a good diet and not just slap some seeds in the cage?
By Arahmynta [Affiliate User] 1197443639 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove(Part2)Will they learn to train their bird so that a relationship is established and behaviour problems don't arise? If people are responsible, owning a bird can be amazing. It's people who are ignorant and won't bother to learn about caring for their bird that cause these problems. It doesn't have to be that way. Don't buy a bird (especially a long-lived parrot) if you're not ready for it.

By peanut3191 [Affiliate User] 1195368990 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNo force feeding to try to keep it alivel. Parrots when depressed stop eating and also pluck their feathers off thus the bald ones you saw. This is so sad it makes me cry. Most of those parrots are from South American and at least my country Ecuador has made it against the law to remove them. But there are still money hungry people that try.

By davidgrgic [Affiliate User] 1194640188 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAll you people who think that the message of this video is to release your caged birds are wrong and you dont get it. The 1st images in the video depict the birds flying in the wild, the way they were meant to. However, along came the greedy human who took them out of their habitat to make a buck, not caring that many birds will end up neglected and abused.
By malee74 [Affiliate User] 1192876311 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTrue. But as of yet, parrots have NO animal abuse laws. :( You can literally fry your parrot up & eat it in many states, legally.
