Gharonda was an incredible movie, with a painful and sad end. The movie starred Amol Palekar, Zarina Wahab, Shreeram Lagoo, and Jalal Agha and had music by Jaidev. The movie was released in 1977. It had music by Jaidev, and lyrics by Gulzar. The movie won Gulzar an award for another song from the movie "do deewane Shehar mein". The movie was directed by Bhimsain.
This song was sung by Bhupinder Singh, who did not sing much for movies, but sang very well.
