I can't recall seeing a woman driving without these big, dopey glasses; many more women wear them over men and I guess it's a silly fashion statement, I dunno, but I think it looks phoney.

Excuse me?Mainly women?I live in NY and the law states you cannot drive and use a cell phone.But most everyone apparently thinks they are exempt from the law.The people with cell phones plastered to their ears do not display a disproportionately population of just (mainly)women.Sunglasses keep the sun out of ones eyes.I do believe that teenaged drivers that lack experience & the inability to predict the consequences of their actions pose the biggest threat when they drive and use cell phones.

too many folks(mainly women)abuse this priviledge, while wearing these silly sunglasses which they think makes them look cool. If one of you people hit my car, god help you if you have a cell phone nearby. It may be shoved down your throat or up your ass.

I don't know how many times I've almost been smacked into by some idiot on a cellphone.

Back in the 70s and 80s we had these things called payphones.

the law just got tougher, now you can go to prison even if your driving was careless as opposed to dangerous which is harder to prove.

Good video, a woman was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving today for killing a cyclist while texting, I hope the publicity will change the behaviour of at least some drivers.

A good driver won't use a phone while driving. Even driver's who've never crashed before have lost concentration whilst on a mobile, even if they don't cause a crash (through pure luck). Multitasking is one thing.. taking your eyes off the road or being focussed on a phone conversation are entirely different

It's not just Americans. I've seen Britons do it too, but they seems to be realising how dangerous it is (Englanders anyway)

I was crossing the street in Bangor Maine once when this lady was stopped in traffic, she looked "right at me" and then "waved for me to cross" and when I started to step infront of her car she almost ran me over. Then I noticed that she was on her cell phone. She must have been waving her left hand around while she was talking and happened to gaze out the window at my direction. But her mind was on her call.
