Museum Collection

This collectible glass "Japanese Bridge" ornament makes a beautiful addition to anyone's collection. Each ornament is faithfully reproduced from Monet's 1889 original.

Each glass ornament takes up to 6 hours to hand blow, silver, paint and glitter in Eastern Europe--making each ornament a unique art piece.

MIA's glass Christmas ornaments are mouth blown, silvered, hand painted and glittered. All designs are exclusive limited edition of 1500 pieces or less. Mia designs her ornaments in her Polish studio nestled in the Tatra mountains. Mia's designs draw on Poland's folk tradition of making glass ornaments, her love of the arts and the world around us. Enjoy!

History of the Claude Monet Oil Painting "Japanese Bridge Over Pool of Water Lilies, 1889": It's likely that Monet began or actually did most of this painting at Giverny in the summer of 1888. Monet completed by memory at his studio in Giverny many of the paintings in this "Japanese bridge series" -- a concept he had staunchly opposed until about 1900. Another painting from the same year is Ravine at La Creuse, Sun Effect. French painter Claude Oscar Monet (1840-1926) was born in Paris and grew up in Le Havre. He shocked his contemporaries and revolutionized the way art was produced in the 19th century by painting en plein air -- outside the studio -- the only way he could capture the nuances of shimmering light and opalescent color that only nature could provide.
