Leon Redbone - Ground Sphere Rhythm Cafe, 9/12/07 (3/8)

Just saw Leon last night, September 26, 2008....brilliant!! He played The Three Oaks Theater in Michigan. He was fantastic. It was just him and Paul on piano. I drove two hours from Indiana to see him and I would turn around and do it again tonight. Great show. The whistling portion of his show almost brings tears to your eyes. Fantastic stuff!

Thank Yo Ho very much, mister. I'm home on a cold and wet (thank God!) day in the Adelaide hills, taking a look at this series every now and again. I work from home as a writer and every now and again something is interesting enough to drag me away from my work.
Leon is a character I'd love to meet, and his gigs seem so intimate.

They were talking about Don Ho's daughter, "Heidi". Scott Black (cornet/trumpet) says, "Sure beats J-Lo...J-Lo Ho.", followed by, "That's as far as I'm going to take that one." I can't remember what the lady said in the audience, but I do recall she was fairly intoxicated.

At the end of the video, he makes reference to Emmett Dewey Miller.

Does anyone know who the singer Leon refers to as being a favorite of his and recently deceased is? I can't make it out. I can't make out what the audience member says (about the singer's daughter's hypothetical names) that breaks Leon's straight face, either, although I find myself laughing because everyone's enjoying it so much.
