    Please don't compare this to Disney, this is truly in a league of it's own. I honestly believe that nothing from Disney comes even close (however they are very good as well). Disney is formula, this is unique. God bless the Russians for making this animated film, it has enriched my childhood so much, I can not describe it in words. I hope to find it on DVD, and if I do I will buy it not only for myself, but for the children in my extended family as well.

    This is impressively animated. I once believed that Soviet animators were incompetent, but clearly it is not so. Perhaps it is a little derivative of Disney, but what wasn't in the 50s.
