hey hey hey don't be so mean. i mean, sure he can be a bit scary sometimes (a bit?) alright, plainly disturbing (much better) but with no near, there wouldn't have been a hot mello running around with a chocolate bar in the series. THINK OF MELLO! n.n

Yep, I tried watching the 1st movie twice, but can't get past 12 mins. due to my laughing of how funny it is that they don't seem to look alike at all.

I agree, they tried to do too many things in this movie. They should have tried to make it more like the one shot and just gave the death note to a random person.

I lol'd at all of the "This was a good movie" comments. The movies do a terrible injustice to the manga (and Anime).

near is a flaw the series should have ended with L's death

most important characters are near, mello, light, L but 2/of the 4 is not enough because near did so much at the end of the anime its just not right same with mello wat the hell.

Near and the others are in the OTHER Death Note movies...theres more then one.

I love this movie, it follows the anime really well, but it doesn't include Near or Mello, but its still a great movie, If you look hard enought you can find this and its sequal on youtube!!

i don't live action anime/manga would be good either but if you think about it besides the shinigami* theres really nothing crazy or anything so its pretty much just real life other then if they show the shinigami realm. hmm it will be interesting none the less..
