Golden Princess 2008 Alaska Cruise Ship Vacation Video

I went on this trip last summer with my sister and grandparents. At first I was hesitant about going to Alaska. I really wasn't sure if it'd be any fun but since I am a ship enthusiast I was stoked about going! I remember feeling slightly disappointed when I first saw the ship but the cabins were comfortable, the crew helpful and the general decor was pleasing. The people? Couldn't have had a more interesting lot! And Alaska? Amazing! I so want to go again!

Did the trip in 2001 Aug/sept, loved it mendon hall glacier heli, liersville never had snow on the skagway yukon passage froze going up the RR stayed out thewhole RR ride. Bring back memories, as Ionly had an olypus for pic/vid silence. I also have aJVC 395U series love the shot but seemed Youtube degraded big time.

Did you do the helicopter tour?

It wasn't too bad, about $800 per person after taxes. The balcony was a free upgrade. We live in Seattle, so there was no cost for airfare or hotels.

That was definitely the best part of the trip.

Not sure, but I'd guess about 700 given the 14 coaches with about 50 passengers each. The population is only 1390 people, so it's almost entirely a tourist operation.

It was nice, but not as much participation as on our Caribbean Cruise. We had a balcony, so we weren't on deck as much as our last cruise.

That's a nice cruise, but not as nice as the cruise tours to/from Whitier. The McKinley Explorer was a great train trip.

How were the activities onbopard the ship?

I've just did the same cruise and it was very nice. Alaska is beautiful.

I wish I had visited Alaska instead of New York. Wow!
