Jim Clark's Fatal Accident.

I'ts a fact. Rindt basically was thrown 'within the cockpit' as the front end of his car was torn out. His body stopped as the 'belly' strap caught him by the neck. Precise facts could vary a little but it's roughly how it could've happen.

i heard a factor in rindt's death was because he didnt do up the seatbelt properly
which was common practice att the time
i was told this by an old hand who had been consulted by c chapman on improving safety!

I'm reading a biography from a French-Canadian racer/reporter who raced the same day at BrandsHatch in Sports car category. He sais Jim would have been there and share a Porsche. It was a bit of a last-minute decision to choose the F2 race instead. The announcement of his fatal crash was made just before their start and everyone was in shock.

in the usa when there's a fatal crash they just run a few laps under the yellow, clean up the track and go on to finish the race almost like nothing happened. no one should lose their life playing at a sport.
