Halle Berry is the first African-American ever to win an Oscar as best actress. She won the award on 24 March 2002 for her starring role in the drama Monster's Ball (2001, co-starring Billy Bob Thornton). Berry went from the world of beauty pageants in the mid-1980s to a television series, Living Dolls in 1989. In 1991 she began performing in feature films, including Spike Lee's Jungle Fever. She continued to appear in small roles on TV and on the big screen, notably with Warren Beatty in Bulworth (1998) and as actress Dorothy Dandridge in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999). She played Storm in the X-Men movies (2000 and 2003, with Hugh Jackman) and the lead in 2004's Catwoman. Her other films include Swordfish (2001, with Jackman and John Travolta) and the James Bond thriller, Die Another Day (2002, with Pierce Brosnan). What a rare beauty!!!

  • Race has nothing to ...

Race has nothing to do with class, grace, poise, beauty, and brains, Halle is all of those things and more. Her beauty goes beyond color, she represents everything elegant, check out her beautiful mother.
She,s simply beautiful. The young HOLLYWOOD DRUNKS,DRUGGIES, AND AIRHEADS,can learn quite a bit from her. Put that in your smallminded pipe and smoke it, who ever the cap fits, wear it.

I'm agree with you, norton 996.

Today, most original music is never played on radio : the programmers are responsible on the present situation. And the original music is much better than the music's samplers.

  • i don't totally ...

i don't totally disagree with you because sampling also keeps the classics alive for other generations to listen to; i had never heard it until i did research on who Young Ac sampled the song from. BUT i wouldn't go that far and generalize ALL hip hop artist like that: the human mind is too complex for such generalities.

  • Sampling, why don't ...

Sampling, why don't they call it what it is, Stealing. Most hip hop artists have no idea how to play any music of their own so they sample original music, throw out the lyrics and substitute their own.

This song sounds so much like a Santana song it is hard to believe that it is pure Steely Dan, good for them to go a different way.

  • i like these styled ...

i like these styled songs from the 70's can i get suggestions on other artist and songs to listen to? i was born in 87 so excuse me. the only reason i found this is because a hip hop artist Young AC sampled it in his song 'Swang' and i wanted to know where it came from....

  • lets be honest ...

lets be honest though; in this country if you have even an 8th of African in you then you are considered black, all depending on if it shows or not. but i agree with everyone else; just enjoy the song and her beauty; forget ancestry
