http://www.dolphinstreet.com Demo of my new SX SST62 Strat. This guitar is dirt cheap but a decent beginner guitar and it sounds pretty cool. On this clip, I am using a Vox AD50VT on the UK '70S amp model.
See my website for full review of this guitar and for other guitar video clips.
Would u say this thing nails the feel of a real strat?

By moffatsghost [Affiliate User] 1200431087 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have an SX Tele with Maple board, and it's around $100 and totally awesome!! Sound and feel are great. Nice solid feel from the guitar that you don't often get from a bolt-on neck.
I have several older Squier Tele's and Strats, and the SX is a better value overall. If you're gonna buy new, try an SX. Some of the older Squier guitars are really nice, but a mixed bag since they're used. I have Squiers that are MIM (Mexico), MIJ, MIA, MIChina, etc.
I was actually asking about the quality of the rosewood on that particular model, but that's still good advise for those who need to know the difference between maple and rosewood. thanks anyway.
By REDKLOK [Affiliate User] 1200389057 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe rosewood is a softer wood and provides a much darker , warmer sound as opposed to the bright snappy sound a maple fretboard produces
By moffatsghost [Affiliate User] 1199817508 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI say get the SX. The parts and whatnot in my opinion are nicer. You'll need to change the strings ASAP though if you expect the thing to stay in tune at all, but other than that, I think the SX's are WAY nicer than the Squiers and to me they sound fatter. The finishes are better as well.
By WrathOscuro [Affiliate User] 1199455817 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe stock pickups sound pretty good, but not as good as his CS '54s.. The stock pups are alot muddier sounding to me.
By WrathOscuro [Affiliate User] 1199455721 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat's what I wanna know too. I already played the ash model with a maple fretboard and it was ok. I'd like to get one with a rosewood fretboard if the rosewood doesn't need a lot of oiling
By REDKLOK [Affiliate User] 1199390642 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewell its not really an sx guitar without the original pick-ups is it NOW! decides i have the same sx! to be honest with its original pickups, it sounds a lot better than yours, PUT THE ORIGANALS BACK ON.
By grocks2 [Affiliate User] 1196346101 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDepends fender is way higher quality. Squiers are just a cheaper version. If you're jst starting out and not sure if you will keep playi n get a aquier.
By ferdgreg [Affiliate User] 1195825558 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeim thinking of getting one (sx strat), Do you recommend id over a Squier Affinity Strat or Tele?
By jmesroc [Affiliate User] 1194123621 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat is the rosewood fretboard like? It is porous?

By Hippylespaul [Affiliate User] 1188357275 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSorry, I am not too much into humbuckers so I wouldn't know what to recommend.
By rotren [Affiliate User] 1186432385 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI just changed the pickups to Fender CS '54 pickups.
By rotren [Affiliate User] 1186432285 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAll you changed were the pickups, any other mods to the pots or anything? It sounds great! Vintage,or hot rod 54 Fenders or soome other brand ? guitarhawg478
By guitarhawg478 [Affiliate User] 1185587878 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have two SX, a Strat with Active EMG Pickups and a Les Paul with stock pickups (I've purchased a set of Seymour duncan). I was thinking in buying an Epiphone Les Paul to install the new pickups, any recommendation? Thanks and good tone.
By martinsaravia [Affiliate User] 1185367112 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe Squier '51 sounds better stock, but the SX with better pickups can be a great guitar.
By rotren [Affiliate User] 1179777366 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYOu dont like this bettert han your '51 do you? I notice most of your bids are with the Squier '51..its such a great guitar!
