SX SST62 Stratocaster

Would u say this thing nails the feel of a real strat?

I have an SX Tele with Maple board, and it's around $100 and totally awesome!! Sound and feel are great. Nice solid feel from the guitar that you don't often get from a bolt-on neck.

I have several older Squier Tele's and Strats, and the SX is a better value overall. If you're gonna buy new, try an SX. Some of the older Squier guitars are really nice, but a mixed bag since they're used. I have Squiers that are MIM (Mexico), MIJ, MIA, MIChina, etc.

I was actually asking about the quality of the rosewood on that particular model, but that's still good advise for those who need to know the difference between maple and rosewood. thanks anyway.

the rosewood is a softer wood and provides a much darker , warmer sound as opposed to the bright snappy sound a maple fretboard produces

I say get the SX. The parts and whatnot in my opinion are nicer. You'll need to change the strings ASAP though if you expect the thing to stay in tune at all, but other than that, I think the SX's are WAY nicer than the Squiers and to me they sound fatter. The finishes are better as well.

The stock pickups sound pretty good, but not as good as his CS '54s.. The stock pups are alot muddier sounding to me.

That's what I wanna know too. I already played the ash model with a maple fretboard and it was ok. I'd like to get one with a rosewood fretboard if the rosewood doesn't need a lot of oiling

well its not really an sx guitar without the original pick-ups is it NOW! decides i have the same sx! to be honest with its original pickups, it sounds a lot better than yours, PUT THE ORIGANALS BACK ON.

Depends fender is way higher quality. Squiers are just a cheaper version. If you're jst starting out and not sure if you will keep playi n get a aquier.

can u tell me what u have the settings on eg, base, treble, tone one, tone two. I can't seem to get that sound out of my mid pickup, great playing.

I have two SX, a Strat with Active EMG Pickups and a Les Paul with stock pickups (I've purchased a set of Seymour duncan). I was thinking in buying an Epiphone Les Paul to install the new pickups, any recommendation? Thanks and good tone.

The Squier '51 sounds better stock, but the SX with better pickups can be a great guitar.

YOu dont like this bettert han your '51 do you? I notice most of your bids are with the Squier '51..its such a great guitar!
