This is just awesome storm chasing footage - love the spider lightning most of all! Some of those cloud to ground strikes were extremely close, though. And the supercell approach footage while chasing was also just breathtaking!

I assume the massive shelf cloud was the supercell and Derecho event in northern Oklahoma 27th May 2001 - what a wild ride that was - incredible and the lightning - the longest and most powerful super bolts one can imagine.

Spectacular display of Nature's fury - my favorite segment is from :28 through :35 - the most MASSIVE shelf cloud I've ever seen - and the lightning immediately after is gorgeous - and the lightning from 1:30 through 2:14 leaves me breathless - the CG at 146 TOO CLOSE!
