  • It is not known, ...

It is not known, but has something to do with genes. They say that if you have it, and do drugs it can help bring it out. But not give you schizo as some people believe.

  • Not entirely, but ...

Not entirely, but there seems to be a strong genetic component.

Oh I know this video -- her name is Etta. She had a case of paranoid schizophrenia. It's an interesting video, I've been looking for this one for MONTHS! Thanks for putting it on youtube, I feel at peace having found it.

  • I think we should ...

I think we should monitor these people to make sure they are safe. Hide microscopic cameras everywhere they go. In their homes and the grocery stores where they shop, and in the eyes of the people who are in the stores with them. It also might help to put tracking devices under their skin. Offering verbal encouragement is also good. We should offer verbal encouragement by implanting speakers in their ears that will offer words of encouragement.

  • Yeah, but you have ...

Yeah, but you have to give them space to talk and not get them agitated in any way, or you won't make any progress at all. There is no real cure yet, so how else are you supposed to communicate with these people? They're frustrated that you can't understand what they perceive as common knowledge, and they anger easily if you say one wrong thing that makes them feel stupid.

You don't wanna screw with a schizophrenic.

  • I really have to ...

I really have to complement the doctor or nurse talking to her - he is doing an absolutely wonderful job. Supportive, warm, kind, without arguing with her, he doesn't agree with her delusions (agreeing and confirming is a very bad idea, but so i arguing and berating them), but just discusses with her very calmly. He is doing a wonderful job and she is very relaxed and friendly to him. An absolutely beautiful job. It is really wonderful to see a patient so relaxed and comfortable.

  • Delusions don't ...

Delusions don't occur because someone has 'the delusion of religion'. Delusions are a neurological symptom, like a head ache, seizure or migraine. They aren't caused by a thinking process, but by a chemical imbalance in the brain.
