I'm Sorry-The Delfonics-1968

Nobody sounds like the 'Fonics, not even the other great Philly groups. Their production was different, their singing was different. Russell TompkinsJr once told me that Poogie was the best tenor in Philidelphia. And Russell ain't no slouch!

I will sign a petition....I have been listening to them since I was 5 years old.

Philly always had the best music.

This is music for the SOUL, The vocals are always on time and the arrangements are FYAH!!!!Those in the know -know the real deal the DELPHONICS will stand the test of TIME. CLASSIS ISH !!!!!

One must remember that the Delfonics, who never got their just due will ALWAYS be part of musical history. One-hundred years from now when high school student's are ask to do a book report, and after research, come up with? You guessed correctly, The Delfonics, for their report. These young kids will love what they hear, and state in uniform, doo-wop, the greatest sounding music to one's ear.

This is what brought in the bluelights into the basement. R&B now could never get this deep again. Once you turn your back and heaven, its rare it will want you back.

We have to get them in.Bonnie Raitt couldn't even shine their shoes.This has been a huge oversight.They wrote their songs also with their producer.

And I am jealous of you for growing up in that time. lol

Jameycruz: Are you serious? The Delfonics are not in The Hall of Fame?? Now that's shameful. I hope they are recognized SOON!!!I have yet to meet someone who is NOT familiar with their music. Who makes those decisions anyway, who's going to be in the Hall Of Fame, that is.

One day the Delfonics will be acknowledged as one of the top R&B groups that ever were.
These guys did not get their due.

Definitely,the greatest music of all time.Don't they know how great the oldies are.In 200 years the 1990's and 2000's will be long forgotten but the oldies from the 50's -60's and 70's will still be here.Definitely.

My GOD...what went wrong with R&B/Soul? This stuff was timeless and gorgeous and had no cultural barriers..brought all together... as it was appealing to all and totally disarming...taps into all I ever felt...I am a white guy who absolutly adores this stuff! Real musicans, singers, and talent! Lots of memories. Not like many of these dime-a-dozen factory produced marketed computer generated acts of today found on "Idol Americans" Oh, excuse me....I meant American Idol! Long Live the D's! :-)
