Ciao from Monaco. The answer is: the only way for Sharapova family (father, masha, mother), ~13 years ago, to succeed in Tennis, was Nick Bollitieri Tennis camp. Since she succeeed & makes big money, she doesn't want to return in bella Russia, 'cos as a Russian Citizen, she doesn't pas any "Taxes" in living in USA.

Not really. You can choose how many ever citizenships you want to hold but a person can't choose his/her nationality. I can be a citizen of Holland, Canada, Sweden and Japan, my mom can be a Native American, and my dad can be German, but if I was raised (not necessarily born) in Sweden, that would make me Swedish. That's the way I look at it.

that's interesting because people always comment on youtube that she has an american accent when she speaks russian...I guess they are just haters...

Well, while her English is really great, you can still tell she is not a native speaker and you can catch a slight Russian accent while her Russian is absolutely accent free, I guess because it is in her blood and the language that you spoke as a child is your what they call mother language and so she spoke it till she was what 8 ? and then continued with her father and stuff, so which language does she speak better? Russian, hands down.
