Suze Orman speaks to a realtor who is underwater
$40,000 isn't a bad salary unless you're high maintenance.

By janco333 [Affiliate User] 1219618920 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is the type of situation where you have to cut what you can't afford, and get what you can out of it by selling it.
If she would of stayed in that house, her debt would keep increasing. Also she is not working and that makes things worst.
She made a bunch of bad choices, and i can see why she is divorced. I wouldn't want a female that make the dumb choices she made, i don't care how good looking she is.
I rest my case here..someone that makes comments on buying homes..when he/she doesn't have any knowledge about what they are talking about..except buying a tape and calling them experienced mortgage professional in the industry. I appreciate your opinion however; I think you should reconsider some of your opinions you think that are valid and are not.
By kuualoha2008 [Affiliate User] 1218367370 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell, obviously you had a bad experience with a Realtor I don't think you should sterio type "All Realtors" into one category. I've been in the industry for many years..and met some very professional Realtors that are good at what they do. Realtors did not mislead anyone..first of all the Department of Real Estate.regulates these rules, second of all..lemon law..your joking aren't you? A realtor by law has to disclose any problems with the property.up front.also buyer can get a home inspection.
By kuualoha2008 [Affiliate User] 1218367032 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIm a mortgage profession, in response to your comment, the industry.. has nothing to do with borrowers being able to afford their payments. If a loan is upside down..and they cannot sell their home and the payment adjusts $500-1000 for some this is a hardship. A lot of these borrowers before had good credit. FHA stepped in and increased loan limits and FHA Secure..to help borrowers that are behind in payments.
By kuualoha2008 [Affiliate User] 1218366554 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm in the mortgage business since the early 80's however; lenders are not in the business to qualify borrowers that cannot afford house payments..and these products 100% financing and negative amortization was based on values going up. When rates rose, then values started commming down.then its a dominto effect..how do you refinance out of a home that has no value? You can have the best credit..stuck into a trap..or to foreclose, short sell or make the payment or modify the payment.
By kuualoha2008 [Affiliate User] 1218365833 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe true culprit of this whole situation is our government regulators not giving the proper over site of lending institutions. The government makes guidelines for lending. This person should have never even qualified for a 3d note against the home. So many people have purchased homes with no money down, negative amortization, and what ever crap scheme some lending institution is putting out there. If you don't have the money, you can't afford it. Go back to school and take ECON 101.
By marklchristensen [Affiliate User] 1217788874 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAlmost every time someone calls in on Suze's show, I say the solution as I am listening to the caller, then Suze says exactly what I said 90% of the time; but this was the hardest case I have ever heard on her show. Goodness. I don't know what I would do in her case b/c I would be attached to my home as well. I wish this lady the best. Good advice again Suze.
By DeFinedInteriors [Affiliate User] 1217740313 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI can appreciate your feelings towards realtors, I've heard others share similiar sentiments as well. However, from one human being to another, suffering such a reduction in income, especially when you have children, would be a bit of a challenge for anyone to deal with.
By loanmod [Affiliate User] 1217738855 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell, I don't like Realtors. There. I said it. An overwhelming proportion, I believe, are conniving knaves. Realtors are worse than any car salesmen. We have lemon laws protecting car buyers, why not home-buyers? Basically, I believe (though I cannot prove it) that Realtors purposely misled people because they were operating in their own self-serving monetary interests. Why should I be sympathetic towards this arrogant useless middleman profession? Realtors are useless. They are just in the way.
