You might be able to put an internal ventilation system in, though it would need some sort of filter.

Perhaps the biggest drawback would be the fact that the ionization from the arc can cause a buildup of ozone and nitrogen monoxide in the listening environment, which can be a health hazard during extended use without adequate ventilation.

Billable consumption of power is measured in watts, not volts. That's why those power meters on the side of a building measure your use of electricity in kilowatt-hour units.

Otherwise, watching TV off a CRT set would be expensive because the operating voltage of a picture tube is around 20,000 to 30,000 volts.

But, the operating amps are relatively low so the resulting watts, or level of work, is low.

Low work = low demand. Low demand = low electrical bill.

So now you need an tube driv en amp for a subwoofer and a mid loudspeaker and your high end sound system is ready
