This is one of the early Stirling models from Solar Engines in Arizona, purchased in 1980 and used for many hours over the years. The connecting rods have been rebuilt at least twice and the displacer now has a set screw locking it to its shaft since it broke loose a couple of times. The heater head has also been replaced since the original one wore out. In a recent test, though, it still reached 2550 rpm with a digital tach. It was originally equipped with a parabolic dish mirror to run on solar power but it was lost in one of our many moves. This is the precursor to the Sun Runner that has a closed crankcase.
