  • I didn't mean scuba ...

I didn't mean scuba, S-C-B-A tanks are fireman issue fiber-aluminum composite tanks. SCBA stands for self contained breathing apparatus. I used to hydostatic pressure test these tanks at my last job. You do have a point about the temperature, i was just concerned about the blast and shrapnel.
These style tanks are incredibly strong actually, they are tested to 7500 psi.
Scuba diving tanks are generally only tested to 5000.

You would be amazed what fire turnout gear that surprisingly is designed to repel fire can stand... Even that half second flash.

  • That's not a scuba ...

That's not a scuba tank. It's an O2 tank that is designed to be in close courters with fire. That fire was probably about 800 degrees F for under a second, burning buildings are 6,000+ degrees and your in there for 15 minutes or more.

Im not surprised he survived without major damages, it's just flames that lasted for like 0,5 seconds.

Flames burns very slow (compared with other explosives) and many hundreds times slower than for example dynamite.
