  • Sure you make a ...

Sure you make a good point, to expand on your point, the EVO is good on road, on track and on forest tracks. That was another point of mine, the Dodge is good on one surface in one direction, the EVO will take any road, anywhere, any surface, any speed etc it has to be the king of rally cars. And rallying has to be the most skilled type of racing, lets be honest, NASCAR is just going round in circles very fast. I want to see an American rally car with an American driver! bit of a long shot!

  • well, i was more ...

well, i was more leaning twards to ccx, when i was refering to racing cars. but dodge does use turbos for racing, hell theres twin turbo vipers out there and there not that uncommon. have you heard of the venom 1000 or the competition coupe? anyways the evo fq400 is based on rally technology, which is racing if you think about it. the computer steering technology, the turbo, the 2.0L. all stuff of rally cars. it would make more scence to compair the viper to the gsr, or the fq400 to an acr.

  • I don't think turbo ...

I don't think turbo technology would put the price up that much. A lot of European cars have turbo's especially diesels, even tiny cars (even mine!) and they're cheap enough. An EVO FQ400 for example is only £50,000 new which is around $80,000 not bad for such performance etc.

  • An evo is not a ...

An evo is not a track car, my mate has a FQ320 sure it's not the FQ400 but it's still pretty quick, he only got up to 140 MPH when i went for a spin because the road was bendy but he has had 170 and he said it could have gone faster. He was taking tight bends at ridiculous speeds and the EVO would not budge an inch, it had so much grip. He uses it every day, it has a large boot, 4 doors, 4 comfy seats etc, the EVO is an every day car. The FQ400 is essentialy the same car, just 80 more BHP.

  • because pricing wud ...

because pricing wud go higher plus i have seen a viper naturally aspirated (gts model) go from 455 hp to 850, the engine can do it.and that car im talking bout did not even need a turbo.

  • what the hell do ...

what the hell do you expect? its a dodge viper. its a "everyday car". people drive these to work and partys and stuff. you keep compairing it to these racing style cars. you dont drive a 1000hp car daily. have you seen anyone show up to work in a koenigsegg? that car belongs on the track. why dosnt dodge use turbo? well they do...for RACING! stop comparing this car to racing cars, like your evo or ccx-r that are ment for the track.

  • It still doesn't ...

It still doesn't make sense to me to have such a big engine with so little BHP. Anything over 8 litres should be getting well over 800 BHP, at least. For example a KOENIGSEGG CCX-R Edition has a 4.8 litre, almost half the size of the Dodge, yet it produces 1018 BHP! Almost double the dodge! So why aren't Dodge using Turbo's? Europe has used turbo's for decades, especially in Diesels, and even more recently in small engined cars so you still get good performance and economy.

  • ok well like i said ...

ok well like i said before, 4 wheel drive is the reason that the 0-60 is so quick. you keep telling me its a 4 banger, yet you always miss the fact that its "turbocharged". what do you think a N/A 2.0 4 cyl will get huh? like 170 hp. maby its you who dosnt get it. dodge = big engine, big hp, EVO = small engine, small hp + turbo = 405 hp, which by the way is less than the viper. your right it is simple, once you get your facts straight.

  • Trust me the FQ 400 ...

Trust me the FQ 400 does 0-60 in 3.5 it's a fact, you can't deny it. The Dodge i was looking at had 500 bhp and did 0-60 in 4.9 Those were the two cars i was comparing ok? My point was if Mitsubishi can get 400 bhp and 0-60 in 3.5 from a 2.0l 4 cylinder engine, what the hell are the extra 6 cylinders and extra 6 litres doing in the dodge? Get it? Dodge = big engine, small BHP, EVO = small engine big BHP it's quite simple really.

  • ok wow i said if ...

ok wow i said if your looking for a car like that. not if you already own a box of rice. also just cause its 4 wheel drive dosnt mean it can take a cornor. all cars do that, hell my dads 87 sierra can take a cornor going fast. you just think the viper dosnt handle at all, because you watch these videos of drivers who cant drive for S**t take them.

  • I got the info from ...

I got the info from autotrader website where they have a comprehensive database containing lots of info on cars, there is a 2008 Viper on there for sale and an Evo FQ 400 and i beleive the 0-60 times to be correct for both. Maybe the FQ 360 or FQ 320 does it in 4.9 but the FQ 400 is 3.5 for sure.

  • It's a small engine ...

It's a small engine with a turbo on it, while the Viper is NA. And where are you getting the 0-60 info? The 2008 Viper does that in 3.5, while the ACR (hardcore) does it in 3.4. I also looked up the numbers for the Evo from Edmunds, it says 0-60 in 4.9

  • 1.5 seconds faster ...

1.5 seconds faster cos the Evo does it in 3.5 and the Dodge is 4.9 secs (same as a 1.8 litre lotus!) I know the viper has 8.4, i said it had 6 litres MORE which don't make a difference at all. The Evo is only a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder, quite impressive performance for what the fat yanks may consider to be a "small" engine.
