These were reported to be the wildest supercell storms that the south east Queensland area has experienced in 28 years.

This was at the height of the first storm that affected the Gold Coast hinterland near the Canungra / Tamborine / Cedar Creek areas.

Some of the wind gusts in this video were easily over 100km/h and the most frightening thing about it was the loud howling roar which you can hear to a certain extent from about 0:50 onwards..

A pretty close lightning/thunder flang can be heard towards the end of the video also..

This was quite a scary experience.. as the wind at some points was rattling the car around from side to side and even slightly lifted the van onto two wheels a couple of times..

I had a friend with me on this chase.. so there's a bit of chatting in the background.. sorry if this bores / annoys anyone.
