North Carolina voted against marriage equality yesterday. President Obama described the result as discriminatory, saying he was 'disappointed by the vote'. Following local UK elections last week, it was reported that Prime Minister David Cameron was 'wobbling' over his support for gay marriage. However, Equalities Minister, Lynne Featherstone said the government will NOT back down over its support. Cambodia hosts its 2012 Pride festival next week. Participants from across Asia will take part in events aimed at increasing visibility and understanding within the family. A new United Nations video featuring the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, has been released in support of IDAHO day on the 17th. In the International Day Against Homophobia video, she says, "Punish violence and hatred, not love." And finally, John Travolta has been issued with another lawsuit this week, from a second male masseur, accusing him of sexual assault. Both cases are represented by the same attorney and are seeking $2m USD in damages.
