Dumbbell shrugs are my favorite trap exercise. I know this is a really simple exercise and it seems silly to make a video showing how to do it but I have gotten many requests for it. This is an easy exercise to do at home, all you need is a set of used dumbbells.

Here is the way I suggest doing the dumbbell shrug.
1) Grab the dumbbells with your palms facing in
2) let the weights hang at your side
3) keep your arms straight, dont bend the elbow
4) put your shoulders back, try to squeeze your shoulder blades together
5) go up and down slowly, as far up and far down as you can
6) dont roll the shoulders!!!!


Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn't have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.

    right scooby, im not lifting 100kgs or anything, but ive taken advice of your 2 second rule and have found, that it works and im getting so much more muscle ache than before. how often would u recomend working out, and how long for? i used to aim for at least every 3 days, but im not sure i can keep it up, because im really shattered!! cheers

    Agreed! But i will say that in my experience it all depends on what you are eating. I try to force myself to eat healthy munchies, despite cravings for double 6dollar burgers :)

    One not to everyone: THC is fat soluble, and stays stored in fat until the fat is burned off. Often this happens during your workout, and has the effect of decreasing your stamina and making you a bit stoney (however slightly), both of which decrease the effectiveness of your workout.

    Nice video.I bought some push up bars after watching your push up video and i get very sore after using them.They make my lats very sore too which i wasnt expecting.I've noticed that the soreness sneaks up on me a lot slower than with just dumbells.

    It depends. I would treat this exercise like any other. If you are a beginner then do the 3x/week and do maybe 3 sets of 20 with a min or two rest between.

    If you are advanced then do them once a week with 3-6 sets of 6-16reps.

    There is no magical number, you need to see what works best for you.
