i have climbed tower cranes the "sleave" wich is acually clled a climbing frame is a 2 part unit that goes around the towers and is removed after the climb.The entire cranes machine deck is pushed up by hydraulic rams

FINALLY, I could never "SEE" how this works. I read about it, and saw pictures, but, the 'sleave' is the thing I've never seen before. I wonder where this sits when it is not building itself. (the sleave.)

There are hydraulics on the sleeve (thicker section of the crane, below the cab)

Hangon, what's lifting it? I don't see any motors
