This is an example of a very basic trap in Sifu George Lovio's Fatshan style Wing Chun. The trap is being done very slowly for training purposes. (Check the Lovio Wing Chun trailer video for what trapping looks like at full speed).

It's important to understand that these are just brief snippets of specific techniques totally within the context of Chi Sau. Chi Sau is not a fighting technique but a system that allows us to safely train and drill techniques and strikes that we wouldn't be able to perform full contact without injuring each other, as well as helping us develop extreme sensitivity when in contact with our opponent. These techniques have application in free fighting and would be performed differently than you see here.
