** Part 3 is now up!***

This is the first in a series of arabic language lessons, which will cover the written language and then speech. This lesson is a two parter and contains the basic isolated consonant forms. Stay tuned for the next installation, where you will learn how to write basic words and how the isolated consonants change shape depending on where they are in the word.

Learning Arabic is not as hard as you'd think if you have a good system. I've had to pick up bits and pieces here and there and it is my hope that by bringing them together and sharing them, others will be able to quickly learn how to master this beautiful language.

  • Thanks for these ...

    Thanks for these lessons.
Just a tiny little bit of hint, after the "ha'" which you pronounced as "hah" comes the "Waw" which you pronounced as "Wah", the shape or the -body- of "noon" is more like "siin" "shiin" "saad" and "Daad"..
Also fa' and qaf doesn't belong to the same form group, qaf is more like siin , shiin etc
I was gonna talk about Ein and Ghein but our friend -saxquiz- already did. thank you mate!
And thank you again for what your doing, keep up this great work.
    Salam

  • I agree she did a ...

I agree she did a great job but she is not a native speaker and it is natural that natives would correct her. it is useful for her and for others too I think. I speak about the proper comments of those who appreciate that she in the first place learned their language and now she shares her knowledge with others.

    Excellent job!
For a non-native speaker, your handwriting is excellent, infact it's much better than mine!
Just one comment, the letter you refer to as sounding like "Rein" is actually more like "Ghein" where the "Gh" is more like a baby's cooing sound when you play with it..... if you ever played with a 3-4month old baby you'll know what I mean
