    The guy recording this is a OSHA employee. Big Blue can handle 500 tons the weight of this pick was 450 tons.Big Blue isn't supposed to operate in winds at or above 20mph. They had wind gust's all morning. Ironworkers walked of the job when they heard they wanted to still do the pick. This shouldve never happened. There are plenty of people to blame here operator, contractors, workers and the OHSA employee who is hired to prvent these things. He was to worried about video taping.

    i saw this video in my OSHA 30 class today. the instructor told us that this happened because the contractor was from over seas and they told the operating engineers that they were going to put this frame up no matter what, the engineers said there was no way they could do this in those wind and situation conditions without catastrophic failure. they were threatened with their jobs so they walked off. some other worker assumed he could do it. it wasnt equipment failure, it was human error.
