I believe given time if Americans invest in maintaing their brands as much as the Europeans, people will talk about Corvette along with the Ferrari, Porsches, Lambos, Astons, etc! They have to be consistent and it will take time! But it will happen!

This Z06 is awesome! Its a whole second faster than my Benz SL55AMG and handles better! People underestimate American cars in general! The Ferraris & Lambos got another problem namely too many breakdowns! There's probably a correlation with the price going up and the number of breakdowns! This Z06 outperforms cars twice that and therfore is a better car than cars costing twice that! This is a world beater! Im seriously thining of buying one in Yellow!

The Z06 is THE BEST CAR for the money, and yes, money, because there is no such thing as a free lunch, everything costs something, and in this world's reality...the Z06 is simply amazing!

I don't see defensive. I don't see many people saying that GM builds better status symbol toys for the rich than Ferrari. I see people saying the Z06 can beat them at the track for 1/3 the price. That's not defensive, that's not saying, "Z06 is better in every way than Ferrari!" It's stating a fact. How does stating that translate to defensive?

I don't think there are too many people arguing against that. I'm certainly not. But when you go car shopping, do you completely ignore the price? Of course not. The reality is the price of a car is one of the biggest factors in our decisions of "which is the 'better' for me."

You can't adjust for those things, they are part of the car, make it what it is, and are a huge part of it's appeal. You think an F430 would have the demand it does, if it had poor materials, no luxury options, and was not made by Ferrari workers? I think not.

because once you experience the true feel, sound, and sensation from a big block american V8, there is no subsitute...the europenas make wonderful engines, but they dont satisfy my greed for raw untamed horspower...

Heard of IIT? Considered probably the hardest most competitive engineer schools to get into. The indian institute of technology takes the top 1-2% of nation's students.. 1-2% is hard to achieve when you're competing with more than a billion people.

The new GT-R is gonna cost $90,000. That's 20g more than the Z06. And the GT-R is not even that much faster. Chevy is gonna eat it alive with the ZR1 at $100,000

Why are Americans so patriotic when it comes to motors? Is it any wonder that its only Americans who defend the bloody things!! The new corvette 'now' goes round corners albeit with European influence, if they (Europeans) didnt moan about it they wouldnt have bothered to fix it. ;)
