Smokey Eyes Makeup for New Years Eve

Great video!
I'm trying to do a lighter version of the smokey eye look so I don't look too old. Could I use darker eye shadow and "smoke it" with a lighter shadow? Do you have any other suggestions?

Hi phirarockz, The Smokey Eye Look is great for darker skin because you can really be dramatic with the application and darkness of the eyeshadow colors. I would recommend black and charcoal grey or dark blues mixed with the black kohl eyeliner. Thx, Katie

Hi wishingparis, the eyeliner and mascara are by Rimmel. The eyeshadow is by Quo but I believe this brand is only available in Canada. L'oreal makes some great eyeshadows in these colors. The lipgloss is also by Rimmel as was the metallic silver eyeshadow used in the center of the eye. Thx, Katie

hi niicOle456, The key thing with the Smokey Eye look is blending, to give it that smokey look. Make sure that you blend the kohl eyeliner and the eyeshadows together well. There should be no hard lines. Thanks for watching, Katie

hey your videos are really good i really like them!! ..but i have a problem, I tried making my make up like this one in the vid and when i finished i looked soo fake, how can i make it more natural?

Hi runwalkerrun2, try using a smudge proof eyeliner along the upper lashes and keep the line thin. If you want, you can keep the eyeliner out of it and use black eyeshadow using a very small brush. Thanks for watching, Katie

Hi - just watched your video and it has given me some great tips and help - I am convinced I can not wear eyemakeup, but maybe seeing how it is done will help. One question, when my eyes are open the top lid touches the upper part of the eye, so if I try and use eyeliner it ends up making a mark on the skin of my upper eye - hope that makes sense - any tips on how to stop that happening or a type of eye liner that won't do that.
