Dinesh D'Souza and Christopher Hitchens go at it again at the 2008 Freedom Fest as the "Main Event".
"So loving your enemies is equal to kill your enemies?????
Does anyone see the disconnect in logic witn this atheistic argument? Anyone????"
no, only a disconnect in your conception of his logic. to call atheism or "atheistic argument" illogical is ironic considering atheists are only disputing obvious flaws in the failed logic and failed concept of reality that all theists have.
when you are so arrogant that you can point at those who care for truth (like scientists) and disagree....
Oh, my lord, did D'Souza just make his smarmy, witless little remark about letting biologists out of the lab AGAIN? I've heard it at least five times now.
If I should bump into this little insect, any success I achieve in suppressing an urge to knock a few of the little F**ker 's teeth down his throat will owe nothing to Christian mildness.
Christ, What an oxygen-S**king waste of carbon.
1863? Where was that and what was the judgement?
By Jeremias1111 [Affiliate User] 1220886264 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBecause there is a way that seems right to man, but it is foolishness. I don't want to aspire to man's folly, but to the wisdom of Almighty God who created me to be higher than that. There is nothing harder to me than to love my enemies, but as my spirit gets perfected I learn new ways to think, and I get closer to doing just that. I am hated for my beliefs just as Christ said I would be after He was murdered by His enemies, yet I pray for those who wish me ill that they would obey the Gospel.

Because he comes off very weak and quite nasty when he delves into the personal world. He should stick to the impersonal where he has some command.
By ricaleigh007 [Affiliate User] 1220582006 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFrom previous debates, D'Souza is usually appauling but so far he has, unsually, raised a couple of good point. This should be interesting.
By AlmightScoop [Affiliate User] 1220422143 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAgreed both have great points

By ofssk [Affiliate User] 1220245540 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThese countries are in Afghanistan? Wow, I wonder if any of the hollywood elite have protested the war in those countries. I wonder if any liberals would boycott flying to Norway to get high.
You miss his point, America has been leading the charge. All of these allies are just trying to fulfill debts they owe to us for years and years of support and economic trade.
Oh, I STARTED OUT unbiased...but I've seen enough debates and videos of D'souza to know that he's not worth paying the slightest bit of attention to.
Maybe if he had an original though in his head, quite being quite so snide, and would actually address his opponents' arguments in their own terms instead of engaging in wanton strawman fallacies, he might be a mediocre debater instead of a truly wretched one.
If you're going to jump at chances to use "non-sequitur," please at least spell it correctly. Biology does not equal philosophy. It's great if you want a materialist arguement, but if you want to argue metaphysics, biology sheds no light on this.
By jgraham97mc [Affiliate User] 1220218256 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeway to be unbiased, ass.
By jgraham97mc [Affiliate User] 1220218121 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewow, you have some class, don't you. "If you can't argue, just call them a name... or throw pies at them."
Dawkins and Hichens both constantly criticize people of faith, pompously elevating themselves as "enlightened." You , ClearVista, are a pot calling a kettle black.
The last Inquisition trial took place in 1863. Hardly 500 years ago now is it... And the Spanish Inquisition was only one country out of several European countries that took part in it also.
By surelady [Affiliate User] 1220196083 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveD'souza is such a dick.
He just insults people. For one, Dawkins is an evolutionary biologist, which is a study of a form of history.
I can imagine the Swedish aren't particularly happy with him either.
Dinesh D'Souza [2008]: "I don't want to look at history... we hear a lot of incredible crocodile tears about the crimes of religion, crimes, by the way, that are are often in the very ancient past"
LOL!
Dinesh is the man! Athiests are silly.

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, SWEDEN, Turkey, United Kingdom, Ukraine.
Your such a bullshit merchant.
The whole biologist out of the lab joke doesn't even make sense anyway.
Apart from obviously making demands on one's time, how does the study of biology hinder your ability to argue about god's existence etc?!?
It's a complete non-sequiteur!
I like them both. Good vid.

By BionicDance [Affiliate User] 1220009237 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeat least he didn't start off with one of those corny jokes this time
By bfq3000 [Affiliate User] 1220009057 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveD'souza is a one-trick pony. When I started watching this, I just KNEW he was going to try to get in that dig about a biologist leaving the lab, I F**king KNEW it. He's said that in EVERY debate I've ever seen him in.
All he does is make snide remarks, take everything out of context, and then take credit in the name of christianity for every good thing ever done. What a F**king tool.
