This describes the process done in formatting a drive or USB Flash Drive. Formatting basically means to completely erase all data from a drive and redo the file system.

This is extremely easy to do, but why not make a tutorial just encase anyone is confused.

The command explained in the Format command. It is used like this.

"Format [DriveLetter]:/fs:[FileSystem]"

    Your video is great but I have a little problem with my usb. Although I tried to format it using your way but still doesn't work. My usb from cruzar 8 gb won't format either in other way. I already did format it using PetoBoot ..in my USB_MultiBoot_10 it said "K: has NOT FAT 32 or NTFS Format and is Not Valid" Can you please help me wit this. TY!

    There should be a switch to turn off the write protection security, on the memory card or whatever. If that doesn't work the thing might just be broken. I'm not too experienced with that sort of thing.

    you can also go to my computer and right click the hard drive that you want to format... then another screen pops up and asks you if you're sure you want to format because it will delete everything on it. it's also pretty fast...

    Hi thankkkkkkkkkk youuuuuu soo much dmanbiker you really helped me thank you again i thought i had lost half of it lol i did what you told me and i found the other half unallocated but when i try to partition it, it wants me to create another drive, which would make it in 2 pieces i was wondering if i coulnd make it in like 1 drive both of it? thank you i will be waiting for your reply
