    i noticed one of them (the first guy in the video) doesn't drive his opposite knee up as much as the other guy. instead, he drives the near knee.

    all of ya got nothing to goalkeeping? They roll, so the liquid in your brain, which helps you to balance... is not in normal position, so they become little dizzy, so its harder for them to save, this is simulation... they saved the goal, the ball was high, so they had to roll to not get hurt much, but the ball went back to the opponent, so they need to save the goal again :). And also it builds up they stamina :)

    nice video but... the keepers are quite bad in the techinique. the dont't dive correctly and they don't catch the ball. Some times the have to use both hands!!!

    they roll because it tests their reaction time. it also gives the goalkeepers training when they need to recover to their proper stance and/or positioning.
    but yeah it does look pointless to roll in the beginning. then again, goalkeepers need all the movement they can get.
