This ultra rare film from 1979 starring Michael Douglas is the rarest film that he has ever made. It is a story about having the courage to be what you are! Douglas stars as Michael Andropolis a man in his mid 30's with no job, a failed marriage, two daughters who are ashamed of him. The only thing he does have, is the desire to run in the Olympics. Although he is the unlikliest of candidates to win, he is driven to run no matter what the cost. The film features a terrific scene in an unemployment office, that is featured here. Eugene Levy of SCTV fame appears as his lawyer friend, and Susan Anspach co stars as his soon to be ex wife that is still in love with him. Released in fall of 1979, the film features a beautiful musical score and despite the presence of Douglas, it was not a commerical hit. It disappeared from theatres and (for no inexplicable reason) has never been released on video or DVD in the U.S. It never appeared on HBO, Showtime or any other pay movie channel, and other than an occasional network or local television showing in the early 80's this film has all but disappeared since it was released. It is a true forgotten gem. One note of importance, the films opening shot is of New Yorks beloved Twin Towers as they were back in 1978 when the film was filmed.

C'est un film magnifique dont la fin m'a fait pleurer à l'époque ! Cependant la musique du générique sur ma K7 vidéo n'est pas la même.
