Fifth Gear: BMW E92 M3 Vs. MB C63 AMG

I sat in the m3 sedan today and I was offered and test drive but sadly I cant drive and stick but I got ot crank it up and give it some revs and let me tell you, it rocks. I have a 06 325i and I love it, but I do want my next car to be the m3 sedan but with SMG.

Because it's faster and stays in one piece. In a word, perfection.

why poeple buy bmw? it is not comfor., lux, storng or fast like mercedes...it is not so sport like wrx ot sti...where would you put bmw??? expencive not so specially toy for young guys hwo will tune it...eventually

nice comeback. admit it pal, the MB is just a better machine. There are MBs that will out handle any bemmer out there and not necessarily have to be 100K+. That the M3 handles better than the C63? sure. But dont say MBs handle like pigs in general because its quite the opposite. BMW is looked as a competitor but it really isnt. Their line up doesnt even come close the MBs and their top performance cars neither.

ill choose any BMW over any Mercedes, but when i have all the BMWs i want, a veyron, a lambo, and a Rolls, then ill take the new C63 AMG. its the only merc i like.

depends on what car you are driving. Turbo a C300 or a C350 and see what happens compared to a car on its own category. Compare the turbod C350 with a chipped 335i and see what happens. Compare the fastest of the beemers to the fastest of the MBs and see what happens. Hell, the C63 S**ts on any bemmer, M5, M6, M3, M10,M23424, you aint got S**t .

the new M3 is a fat pig with crappy breaks that fade. =[ 60k imo isnt worth it. BMW blew it again. now if porsche re-engineered teh cayman s to have 330 hp, that car would be cooking. :D 295hp is great, but that cars deserves 40hp more. the car would be perfect.

you see I am not rich enough and I don't feel like spending 60K for a luxury car to accelerate in straight line. don't get me wrong both BMW and Merc are cool cars. BMW is performance oriented. Merc is luxury oriented.

like any other man in mid 20s I'd rather turbo a 6K$ car and drive as fast as 60K car.
and turbo is not "an upgrade". it's a major performance boost.

What the hell are you talking about you can't compare cars based on upgrades. you say your car will be faster if you upgrade it. and the Mercedes won't be? come on man think.

oh and mecedes builds the engines for Pagani and they also share a car with Mclaren. not taking sides but i just thought you should know that.

remember bimmer made engine for mcLaren. That's right 20 year old don't buy 50K cars.
what they do is buy 328is 1998 and turbo it. my 328iS is 350HP, dyno tested. I spent a little under 10K on the car and turbo. had I spent 5K more(to rebuilt the engine to withstand 15-20PSI of turbo) I am sure as F**k would outrun your mercedes. Especially on sharp turn where mercedes runs like an overweight pig. merc is a nice car, but it's a comfort vehicle. not a racing machine.
