This motor uses magnetic attraction to spin. It is basically a cylinder with flat screws attached to the outside. I mounted this on a hard drive spindle. Four neodymium magnets line up with the four rows of screws. The magnets are attracted to the screws, but are attracted more to the heads than the tail ends. The head of a bottom-row screw will be attracted to the bottom-most magnet. So will the head of the screw above it. The cylinder will turn to compensate this imbalance. The same with the next two rows of screws. The lowest magnet now prefers the head of the next screw rather than the tail of the previous screw because magnets are attracted more to the thicker part of the screw. When I move the magnets close enough, the magnetic attraction makes it spin.

This device is a very crude rough draft. The screw placement is off, and it doesn't rotate smoothly. This is a quiet, environmentally-safe, free-energy device. On a large scale it could produce useful energy.

  • OK, so you approach ...

OK, so you approach the magnet to the cylinder and in the same time you apply a moment to the axle of the cylinder that goes under the table, creating a rotational movement. Aha, free energy! You should apply for a patent ! :)

They do loose strength when you make them interact with each other. See domain theory etc.

That is a cool idea. Maybe with more powerful magnets , better screw positioning(maybe even replace the screw with something else) and better bearings it would function better.

  • I see what you're ...

I see what you're saying (it's very evident at 18); the drum should stop when the the magnets are midpoint; however, the shapes of the masses the fields are attracting differ. There is a larger, flat surface area on the upper screws as they turn toward the stator.Perhaps the tapered backside creates an imbalance in pull.If that's the case, the tails are actually only creating drag.Thankyou for your video,I have been experimenting with shielding as well in hopes it may be the key to the gate.

  • This video is faked ...

    This video is faked.
If you draw a vertical line on the spinning drum,
the mass of screws at one side is equal to the mass on the other side and so is in balance and does not spin.

There must be a coil under the table.

    On the topic of shielding.
    the shielding itself becomes magnetic.

  • I am spewing tongue ...

I am spewing tongue in cheek non-sense at you. I do not fear the possibilities of magnets demagnetizing themselves. I think if we threw this concept of a magnetic motor at a Cray supercomputer modeling magnetic fields, it may actually give us a better or at least more efficient solution than the trial and error the so called hacks and con artist can get with years of trials/errors and purchasing of magnets and materials. Anyway, the physical world continues to give us unexpected surprises!

  • What kind of ...

What kind of nonsense are you spewing? I actually am in favor of "green" solutions and I'm against the use of both nuclear and fossil fuels. But so-called "magnet motors" are just the invention of hacks and con artists; magnet motors are fakes. Read my comments again if you didn't understand them the first time.

  • I heard using these ...

I heard using these magnet motors steals our souls and causes the earth to spiral closer to the sun with every use. If you love nature and your children please stop using them!!! coal and nuclear ARE viable. Oh and dont use wind or solar, there is some obscure paper written about how it destroys the environment too, only a little more slowly... In fact, cant we all just stop breathing?! Thanks for the green vote luketrashtalker.

  • In your next design ...

In your next design you might consider using more stator columns. As well, you might check out jamesroney's videos on magnetic shielding. I understand the concept of the screw heads being more attracted to the magnets than the tails, but you may be able to achieve the same but stronger effect by substituting shielded magnets for the screws (and/or for the stators) and end up with a hybrid between yours and his device which with magnets on the rotor and stator might produce more torque. Good Luck

    Thanks for the vid.

Every now and then someone comments that these devices are using up magnetic power "stored" in the magnets, and fade away. Know how to use a gauss meter? Then use one before posting bollocks. 1st, you don't have to use rare earth magnets, 2nd, the whole point of these experiments is to find a configuration that does not demagnetize -duh.. Some have even reported higher gauss readings than before the testing. Magnets are not like batteries.

  • However, even if we ...

However, even if we did use clean forms of energy to remagnetize these "rare Earth" magnets, the increased abundance of them might actually pollute the world further and poison people because of the kinds of heavy metals they're made from. There's also the issue of scarcity of some of those metals. I don't know much of them are on our planet, but I'm led to believe that they must be pretty rare. Hence, the name "rare Earth" magnets.

  • In this case, the ...

In this case, the reason is it's not "free" energy. It's not necessarily even environmentally friendly or "green". The energy to move the drum around comes from the magnetic fields in the magnets. Because of this, the magnets are like batteries. The more they're used to do work and move stuff around, the weaker their magnetic fields get. In addition, the electricity needed to make these magnets comes primarily from coal and oil. It MIGHT be feasible if we use something clean like wave energy.

iv been doing alot of research on alternative energy sources and iv found allot of these power free magnet motors all over the net. one as powerful as 350+ horse power, so why are we still resorting to fossel fules... why cant the government fund this magnet motor technology. its FREE power.. or is that just it... its free they cant collect taxes or provides sell once and never have the same customer agan... well hopefully this technology's day will come and not when we run completely out of Oil
