    Good player can make any guitar sound well, but that guy is using 40-50k $ dollars worht of vintage guitar and amp. I doubt you can pull that tone out of a MIM tele.

    That's MOST of it. However, if a capacitor is almost gone, when you replace it, you get closer to the original NEW sound.

    If the fingers that are playing it aren't skilled, you'll never hear everything that's in that instrument. A good demonstration of this statement is the work of Jeff Beck on Scorcese's Blues Series DVD "Red, White and Blues". Great views of Beck's hand and finger work up close. Those Teles in less talented and skilled hands isn't going to sound the same.

    When you talk about the character of an instrument and how most of the sound comes off the player's finger, here you go. There's nothing like the sound of aged, "cured" electronics. There's probably and little corrosion in there, maybe a little deterioration... but that's what it takes to truly find this kind of sound.

    Great demonstration of technique! One of the best I've seen.
