"Bahay" means "house and "Kubo" means "hut" in Tagalog.

I made this for my friend after casually mentioning the idea a few weeks ago. Building it took just a couple hours, but figuring out how to make it work, almost a month (sorry!).

This is my interpretation of pretty much every Filipino kid's drawing of a local farm: a hut, the rice field, and birds in the distance.

See if you can find the Kalabaw (buffalo) and the yellow Tutubi (dragonfly).

Materials: X-Acto knife, 30-60 triangle, pencil, glue, pastel cardstock. And by now aspirin is my best friend. It also helps to have a DVD to keep the kids amused in the living room.

Geometry notes for the geeky:
The main house is basically a cube (okay, a tall 5x8 cm cube) and the roof portion is a four-sided pyramid of 60'- 60'- 60' equilateral triangle faces and a square base.
